PANews reported on September 24 that Kavukcuoglu, head of Google’s DeepMind department, said that Google is about to release its latest flagship model, Gemini 4, according to the Financial Associated Press. The development was highly anticipated after the tech giant fell behind rivals Anthropic and OpenAI in the AI model race. Kavukcuoglu said that Gemini 4 is in the early stages of the development phase of “post-training”, which is to fine-tune the basic AI model. He said he hopes the model will be released "well before" the end of this year.
