Coinbase is CFTC-approved to register with Coinbase Clearing

Wu said he was informed that Coinbase announced that it has been approved by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to register Coinbase Clearing LLC as its own derivatives clearing house (DCO). So far, Coinbase has formed a complete CFTC regulated derivatives infrastructure consisting of futures commissioner Coinbase Financial Markets, designated contract market Coinbase Derivatives and clearing house Coinbase Clearing. Coinbase Clearing will support USDC as collateral and 7x24 hour settlement, and enable Coinbase to directly create and settle full collateral contracts; some products will continue to rely on existing partners, including the margin derivatives business and upcoming individual stock perpetual contracts.
