A California court has issued a preliminary injunction barring Kalshi from offering sports contracts on Native American tribal lands.

PANews November 6 news, according to The Defiant, on November 4, U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley for the Northern District of California granted a preliminary injunction request by California tribes, prohibiting Kalshi Inc. and KalshiEX from offering sports event contracts on the plaintiffs' tribal lands. The injunction covers sports contracts including baseball, tennis, soccer, basketball, golf, esports, auto racing, boxing, and UFC, but is limited to the plaintiffs' tribal lands and does not apply throughout the state of California. Kalshi previously said it had proactively blocked trading in the relevant areas, but the tribes questioned its effectiveness. Under the injunction, the tribes must provide boundary maps by November 13, and Kalshi must report compliance steps within 21 days.
