Malaysia's central bank launches the SSDS+ tokenized bond platform, supporting round-the-clock settlement.

PANews October 21 news: Malaysia's central bank announced on October 20 the launch of the SSDS+ platform for the issuance, depository, and custody of tokenized bonds and Sukuk. The platform was independently developed by the central bank and uses cloud technology and distributed ledger technology. In addition to wholesale market issuance, it is also capable of supporting the issuance of tokenized retail bonds by the government and corporations.

SSDS+ has been integrated with the RENTAS+ system to support round-the-clock payment and settlement: the former manages the transfer and ownership records of tokenized securities, while the latter completes the transfer of corresponding bond purchase funds in central bank money.
