Wall Street's five major banks are expected to see Q3 equity trading revenue approach $19 billion.

PANews October 9 news, according to foreign media reports, several of Wall Street's largest banks are expected to disclose combined third-quarter equity trading revenue of nearly $19 billion when they report earnings next week. However, as capital market activity begins to cool, performance gaps among the banks are gradually emerging, with some banks starting to clearly outperform their competitors. This contrasts sharply with the situation in the first half of this year. At that time, nearly all of the five largest U.S. banks benefited from a trading boom, with both equity and fixed-income trading divisions staying busy. According to analyst forecasts compiled as of Thursday's close in the New York market, Goldman Sachs Group, which is scheduled to report earnings next Tuesday, is expected to lead major banks with third-quarter equity trading revenue of $5.1 billion. Morgan Stanley is expected to follow closely with equity trading revenue of $4.9 billion; JPMorgan Chase is projected at $4.5 billion; and Bank of America's equity trading division is expected to generate $2.6 billion in revenue.
