According to Bloomberg, OKX has submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with plans to launch a tokenized stock trading platform. OKXICE LLC, a joint venture established by OKX and New York Stock Exchange parent company Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), plans to apply to provide tokenized stock trading for the first 63 New York Stock Exchange-listed companies. Relevant issuers can opt out within 30 days before the launch of trading. The SEC last month paved the way for blockchain securities to be traded in the United States under a temporary exemption framework; the relevant digital assets must contain full shareholder rights such as dividends and voting rights. OKXICE's platform launch time depends on the end of the 30-day withdrawal period and the implementation of other requirements.
