KelpDAO sued LayerZero and Lianchuang over the attack on the rsETH cross-chain bridge, accusing them of failure to fulfill their disclosure obligations and negligence.

PANews reported on September 25 that KelpDAO tweeted that it had filed a lawsuit against LayerZero and its co-founder Bryan Pellegrino over the attack on rsETH’s LayerZero cross-chain bridge earlier this year. The lawsuit alleges that the incident resulted directly from LayerZero's negligence, including failing to disclose inherent weaknesses and risks in its technology and failing to prevent its security infrastructure from being penetrated, allowing attackers to exploit the vulnerabilities.

KelpDAO stated that LayerZero has publicly blamed itself for the past few months, but records show that LayerZero has reviewed and approved its technical deployment and configuration in writing. After the incident, KelpDAO has taken measures to ensure the security of user assets, including migrating the rsETH cross-chain bridge to a more secure standard. It emphasizes that the safety of user assets is always its top priority, and hopes to clarify the facts and hold people accountable through litigation. A public indictment has been filed and a court hearing is expected.
