According to TheEnergyMag, Amazon announced that it will invest more than $1 billion in communities where U.S. data centers are located over the next five years through the Built Together program. The funds will be used for job training, energy-saving renovation of schools and homes, roads, housing, and emergency services. Amazon also said it has stopped signing confidentiality agreements with government agencies for data center projects and has committed to publicly reporting on energy and water use every year; this commitment does not currently cover private sector partners.
