Wu said he learned that the blockchain anti-money laundering platform AMLBot said that Bitget attackers were suspected of confusing Ethereum and Arbitrum twice during the transfer of stolen funds, resulting in the blocking of approximately $700,000 in assets. About 267,000 USDC were sent to the Chainflip deposit channel on the wrong chain, and the related address was subsequently blacklisted by Circle; another about 160 ETH (approximately $430,000) was bridged to Arbitrum and then sent to a channel that only existed in Ethereum, and the funds are currently stuck. AMLBot believes that both transactions may have been executed by automated scripts.
